MY STATS: 11PTS | 3AST | 3STL | 1 REB | 1 TO | 3 DEFLECTIONS (4/6 FG, 2/2 3-PT, 1/1 FT)
JAN 31, 2024 – Last night was my first game back after being out 6 week with a seriously sprained knee, and I was named Player of the Game. It was an important game against the #2 team in our region, Johnson Ferry. This game determined if we’d make it into our region tournament. Before I got hurt we were #4 in our region but, my team didn’t win any games while I was out so we dropped to almost last place.
DEFENSIVE PERFORMANCE: The game took place at Life University and was a must win for us. The guy I was assigned to guard wore #3 and was a 6’3″ PG who scored 40 points in his previous game. When I subbed into the game near the end of the first quarter, he had 6pts and we were losing. I refused to give him an inch of breathing room. He got frustrated because he couldn’t score on me and began turning the ball over. He only scored 2pts of his 14 points on me.
OFFENSIVE PERFORMANCE: It took me a second to get going because I was a little rusty and not all the way back in shape. But once I got going, it really gave my team the confidence they needed. I only played 16 minutes, but was second in scoring with 11 points, while leading in assists and steals with 3 of each. My only goal was to make sure we won and could advance to our region tournament. Fortunately, it paid off and we won the game 74-60.
