Maryville University Elite Camp – Session 1 | August 2, 2023 | St. Louis, MO
PROS
- All instruction was by Maryville’s coaches
- Gym was clean and air conditioned
- Recognized as a ‘Camp Standout’ by NXTPRO
- Small group = better exposure to coaches
- Good competition
- Only 3 hours long
- My squad (black team) went undefeated
- I shot 6-11 (55% FG), and 2-5 from 3PT (40%) in 2 games
- Got to visit all of my family in St. Louis
CONS
- Rainy weather = No campus tour
- Didn’t shoot well in 3PT drill to start camp
- Slightly twisted my knee in scrimmage (still led my team to the 2 wins)
MY FINAL THOUGHTS: I made the 7-hour drive to St. Louis from Atlanta with my parents and little sister. I’m use to it because we travel to Missouri at least 3 times a year to visit my mom’s family in both Kansas City and STL. This wasn’t my first time on Maryville’s campus, so I was looking forward to the camp. Overall, it was a great camp and I had a lot of fun.
